Sculpture by the Sea 2011

(Tamarama beach)

It was Steph’s birthday last week, so on the weekend the girls and I caught up and went to Sculpture by the Sea. We started at Tamarama beach, walked along the path of sculptures to Bondi and walked back….for 3 hours! It was sufficient to say that I was buggered by the end, but don’t tell my trainer LOL.

The weather was at a beautiful 27 degress YES!! It was amazing! :) We really are spoilt by our beaches here in Australia. There were so many good looking people that day I didn’t know where to look. I’m glad I brought my sunglasses because I’m the most unsubtle pervert ever. Oh, and for the sun of course LOL.

(Daisies, Jenee)

Jenee says “Screw you!” hahah.

(“Red Andy”)

The twins kept on sayings this looks like “Andy”. I don’t know who Andy is, but I don’t know the name of the sculpture either, so I’ve unofficially named, Red Andy. Red Andy has a surprise between his legs, make sure to take a look TEEHEEHEE *runs off giggling*.

(Turtle made from car tires, random shot of the girls, a protest installation, zebra sculptures, wire deer looking out to the ocean, giant bottle, skeleton, couple rock sculpture, cute grandpa and grandma, little boy with giant daisy sculpture)

(The ocean, us by the sea, funny shot, pretty photo of Unee)

A nice man helped us to take the group photo, but when he was taking a second photo he yelled out “SEX!”, and we were like o_o”. After that all I could think was, “Maggie, act calm and polite before you get your camera back” LOL.

Unee gets a solo because I felt bad for cutting her out of the photo above, hehe.

(Asian squat, icecream time, me and the birthday girl, my feet, group shot)

We made it into Sydney Morning Herald with the shot in the giant frame! Check out Image 5 on the slideshow. YAY we’re famous! I can tick that off my bucket list lol.

(The yearning, a little mouse, man…?)

The last one is a HILARIOUS photo. They aren’t pointing at the red pin, they are pointing at the (dead?) man sun baking on the rock! LOL. We were pretty tired by this point, we couldn’t even be bothered taking photos of sculptures anymore, but we had to stop for this man. I really hope he’s ok. And I take back all my mockery if he’s actually injured. But for now – are you comfortable there buddy?? What a weirdo! Lol.

I had a great time!! It’s great seeing them :) And ahhh, now I’m tanned!

Boys night out: Hooters, poker and pictionary

(50pc buffalo wings, chicken bones, poker, pictionary)

I had a boys night the other night and went to Hooters for the first time, then we went to Chuong’s place for some poker and pictionary. Look at that glorious plate of fried chicken wings, shimmering in the light. Then look at the sad plate of pseudo healthy dish in the background lol.

It was also Victor’s birthday and we made him dance with the Hooter’s girls hahaha, he looked so awkward. There’s an incriminating video footage of him dancing…but I’m not slack enough to put it online…. OR AM I?

A couple of them also tried the buffalo wings and icecream with chocolate topping combo LOL, Chuong’s awesome expression said it all:

(Chicken with icecream, taking a bite, “wtf” LOL)

(Stupid shot of me)

I’m happy my colors getting a bit lighter! I WANNA GIVA YOU A KISSA. I’ma really tired so, gnite.

A “What Not To Do” guide on how to be a lady

(SNSD aka Girls Generation)

I’ve been sick for the past 4 days, which “luckily” elasped over the entire weekend #Fml. But it gave me a whole lota time to build a mountain out of used tissues, and catch up on kpop videos.

So, SNSD is a teeny-popper Korean girl pop band, and I’ve been slowly getting into them. It was a slow and unwilling transition from “ergh, those boring girls”, to “I cant stop staring at their legs”, to “do I like them?”. Now I’m a……closet SNSD fan….*Shudders*. Marketing: 1; Me:0.

I mean I love hot chics, I love After School because they are sexy. But SNSD makes me feel so conflicted, because they are obviously, prim and proper, ladies. They speak Girly (the language), they sit properly, covers their mouth when they laugh, they GIGGLE, etc etc etc what ladies do. As much as I’m suppose to be confident and comfortable about myself, there’s a bit of me that’s slightly self-conscious about how unlady-like I am.

For example the habits I secretly love doing/proud of are:

  • Popping pimples. Actually I like to “nurse” them to make them bigger, i.e. keep rubbing it. Then POP THE GOO. HAH!
  • Biting the skin around my nails
  • Picking up stuff from the floor with my hand-feet
  • Farting super loudly
  • Telling rude jokes
  • Been told to “stop eating already”
  • Practising the 3 second rule
  • Checking out the size of my booger on the tissue
  • Now I discovered I LOVE peeling dry skin around my nose after it gets flaky from a whole day of nose blowing. Omg it’s super fun mwahahaha, I did it for 20 mins straight.

ANYHOO. I’m going to stop here because this is damaging to my image LOL.

My point is I don’t think SNSD would do any of these. They are such ladies – do they even poo? Just looking at them makes me feel like a country bumpkin. In fact, I realized this while peeling the dry skin from my nose and watching them on Youtube at the same time LOL, classy.

This isn’t so much of an instructional “guide” perse, but certainly don’t do anything on my list, and don’t build mountains out of used tissues. If you want to be a lady, in my made up world of how SNSD would live – go to sleep with make up on, never say anything offensive about anything/anyone, and don’t even go to the toilet. I’M SERIOUS, I’ve envisioned it so it must be true. YOU’RE WELCOME.

This got 33 million hits on Youtube:

See through skirts

This random post is for those people who are home on a Friday night, like me who’s sick. …And everyone else.

So I’m not a “fashionista”, I think it take a lot of time and energy to earn that title. I go through phases with what I like to wear, right now my fashion can be defined as “homeless”, and sometimes, “none” – Imo still fashion never the less, LOL.

I don’t really follow current fashion, in fact I’ve only bought 1 fashion magazine in the last 3 months. The older I get the more I feel like it’s not neccessary to buy fashion magazines, we’re bombarded with fashion in the world around us. And I don’t mean that in a spiritual, earth-loving sense, I mean there’s such an information overload on fashion with posters and advertisements literally around every corner.

I was around one of the said corners online and I came across this strange skirt:

…Aye?

I think I saw similar things around these days, but thats the most see-through one I’ve seen. It feels like a lazy fashion designer got caught up watching re-runs of Sex & the City and realized they only had 5 mins to put something together.

I tried to google for the name of this piece of…thing. But I don’t know the name of it. I’m actually still on the ‘shirt’ and ‘pants’ level of fashion terminologies. I learnt the word ‘bodysuit’ last year and everytime I see a girl wearing one I can only see swimming costumes. I’m guessing this is called a…skurtain – a cross between a skirt and a curtain?

Ok enough making myself sound like a grandma, I digress. I was googling the skirt but didn’t know what to search for, so I put “See through skirt”. Which, makes sense to me. But the first thing that came up was…

(From about.com)

LOLOL OH EM GEE. Traumatising much?

On the website it says – “What you see below are not see-thru skirts. They are actually prints on the skirts to make it look as if the panties are visible and the current rage in Japan.” It was writting in 2003, which, omg, put two and two together means this could very much be the beginning of the current Skurtain trend. How smart of me!!

*Taking a short break to bask in this glorious moment of intellegent realization*

And I’m back LOL.

During the google search I found quite a few see through skirts, re the first picture. And…………………they don’t look too bad anymore. See how I just did a complete back flip there? Ah the fickle nature of being a girl….Teehee.

And now I’m using my girl card.

Hair change!

I just realized I wore the same looking tops in both photos. How many tops like that do I have?!? -Oh I meant, I wored the same styled tops on purpose…totally. *shifty look*

So I’ve been complaining about my boring hair for a long time. It escalated in the past few months when I was getting some chronic color envy and started dreaming about having pastal colored “tie dye” hair. Seriously.

But alas, I couldn’t go through with it because I’ve spent too many years integrating myself into society and I don’t want to undo all my efforts with too dramatic of a hair change LOL. BUT I was badly needed a new look, and needed to feel somewhat “me”.

At first I wanted a light purple fading into a washed out red. But I simply didn’t enough parking to go through with it. And I didn’t want to kill my belly-lengthed hair with bleach yaddi yadda. So tada! Now it’s an orangy reddish color which I’m quite happy with it.

It looks pretty normal on the photo but its an awesomely bloody orange under the sun. YEEPEE! When I wake up in the morning when my fringe is up in the hair and my hair looks like birds nest, boyfriend says I look like a “feral little girl”. HAHAHA I’ll take that as a compliment. Perfect look for me then I guess!

A Spring Style Event

(Holly modelling, beautiful fascinator, Holly and I, Holly me and Philomena, the girls, Holly looking cute)

Earlier this week I went to “A Spring Style Event”, an accessories show with head pieces by the talented Philomena Kwok, and another handbag designer (senile moment atm can’t remember her name all of a sudden).

I was totally blown away by the creativity and just how commercial the head-piece were. Can you believe they were hand-made??

I’ve never worn a fascinator out before because, well, I always felt like a freak hahaha. But these were so beautiful that for the first time I felt pretty good with one on! Holly was the model for the evening, and she looked absolutely stunning! *wolf whistle*

I’m kicking myself for not bringing my DSLR. These photos do not do the event justice!

(Cupcakes by The High Tea Company)

Zomg the cupcakes were so tasty I had like a million of them!! I had so many before I left I felt all jittery from the sugar on the way home LOL. It says on their brochure that when you order from The High Tea Company, they provide all the crockery for hire with the cupcakes, which is a brilliant idea!
